F. Willich, with its sister companies, is one of the leading international manufacturers of building materials and chemical products.

The products are used in building construction and civil engineering, sewer repair technology, tunneling, mining, special foundation engineering, and for the industries and craftwork. Our customers insulate, waterproof, seal, bond, inject, fasten, anchor, fill cavities, repair, and renovate. Fitting technical- and processing equipment and anchor technique complete the range of products. We produce polyurethane-, silicate-, epoxy-, phenolic-resins, polyurea, hydro-structure resin, grout systems in Germany, Poland, and Russia. Since 1882 the company, today owned and run by the 5th generation, is focused on partnership, innovation, and resource-saving activities.

Through the ages

Since 1882 in Dortmund

1882

Company foundation in Dortmund.

The company was founded in Dortmund carrying its founders name: Franz Willich. The Company’s purpose is to insulate pipes and vessels with sheet metal casing.

1900

Opening a branch in Düsseldorf.

Opening a branch in Düsseldorf, expansion of mining business, these include the delivery of driving belts and conveyor belts made from rubber.

1927

International assembly department

The Assembly Department operates nationally and internationally in the fields of iron-, coal-, potash- and chemical industry as well as in the fields of breweries, distilleries and major municipal construction operations. The company invests into the first telephone switchboard and purchases the first truck with solid rubber tires.

1944

Technical insulation becomes an official profession. It is now taught at the public apprentice school. Another foodhold of the company is trade in locomotives and spare parts. The company buildings have been completely destroyed by the Second World War.

1950

Reconstruction and major contract

The reconstruction of the company buildings and grounds is still undergoing. The company finds its new home close to the inner harbor of Dortmund and closes a major contract (DEA Refinery).

1979

Continuous upward trend

After the death of Egon Jaeger in 1979, Hans and Fritz Jaeger, take over the company. As a consequence of strong continuous growth the company moves to a new company building in Dortmund-Dorstfeld. The company turnover has almost tenfold in the last twenty years.

1982

100th anniversary

Willich celebrates its 100th anniversary with 2.100 employees.

1991

Two company groups

The group of companies held by the brothers Hans Jaeger & Fritz Jaeger is divided into two groups of companies. The Willich Group, headed by Fritz Jaeger: Focusing on Insulation-, mining and electrical heat tracing. The Jaeger Group, headed by Hans Jaeger: Focusing on acoustic and dry lining, underground construction, sewer and pipe construction.

1999

Takeover

Reinhold and Mahla takes over the sections of insulation and electrical heat tracing.

2009

New Managing Director

Friederich Jaeger is appointed as the new Managing Director of F. Willich Dortmund. F. Willich starts to refocus on products where it has know how, production and distribution competence. The company now produces products for technical insulations based on phenolic foams, polyurethane systems and fire-resistant high temperature foams.

2014

Sewer renovation

The sewer repair section is established. Due to innovative product developments it is growing to this day.

Re-entry in the business segment mining

Re-entry in tunneling and civil enginieering
